There are a few things about porn, and more specifically, tumblr that I continue to find mesmerizing and baffling all at once. With roughly twenty-four feeds being following, there is a never ending stream of nude girls for me to browse. Every day, a fresh collection of girls bearing themselves for the world to see – for free.
Point of Interest Number One:
How can there be so, so, so many girls who pose nude on-camera. One must assume that they know, in many cases, they know where those photos will end up. [Side Note: Girls, IF YOU EVER HAVE YOUR PHOTO TAKEN (OR MORE CERTAINLY VIDEO TAKEN), WHILE YOU ARE NAKED IT WILL EVENTUALLY END UP ON THE INTERWEBS.] This seems to be at odds with my understanding of how sexuality and female/male relationships work. There’s no coyness. No secrecy. I love that I can partake in the beauty of the female more at any given moment in time. I can dip in to the river of nudity that tumblr flows through all of my various connected devices – and that I’m nearly assured to see someone who is amazingly beautiful who I have never seen before. It’s just amazing to me that there are this many beautiful women in the world willing to offer themselves for my personal fantasy.
Point of Interest Number Two:
What is the continual draw of looking at naked girls? There’s not a huge difference in their appearance and, for the feeds that I follow, they are all attractive. You would think that if you’ve seen one, you’ve seen them all, but the promise of new continues to pull me in – to capture my attention.
